What is LeapTag Inc.?

People have all kinds of interests ranging from cooking to travel to technology to politics and more, but even within our interests, we each have different perspectives and definitions of what makes that interest special for you. How would you describe your interest in climbing the 10 tallest mountain peaks in the world? Try following the politics of Costa Rica. Unless you actively search for it on a regular basis, and unless it becomes a big media story, we are all relegated to running searches to follow our interests. This kind of discovery is effective but time consuming and only good for the moment you conduct the search. We believe that the future of discovery will lie in creating contextual definitions with tools that proactively find things for you.

LeapTag was introduced at DEMOfall 2006. Click here to see the video presentation.

There are web sites to help us organize the information we have already discovered, and to organize the RSS feeds and news available from major news organizations. There are sites that help us see what web communities are interested in and to help us find the unusual and the random. But there has been nothing that allows us to actively discover new information about the things we are personally interested in – to see the world through our own lens – the world according to us as individuals.

LeapTag Inc. was founded in 2005 to solve this problem - to enable people like you to discover relevant information on the topics you are interested in, according to your own definitions, on an ongoing basis and in total privacy. Our first product is called LeapTag.

LeapTag enables you to discover the Internet on your own terms. You define your interests, show LeapTag a few examples of what you like, and it does the rest, scouring the Internet for relevant news, blogs, books – and more. LeapTag works on your computer, allowing you to discover your interests in total privacy.

LeapTag Inc. is based in San Jose, California. We are dedicated to providing consumers with tools that enable them to focus their discovery efforts on only the things that interest them. We are strong believers in privacy and don’t collect information on our customers.
